The center of the town is a medieval monastery, in front of which traditional dance and concert events are held every year.
The picturesque fishing harbor has been revived in recent years. The entire harbor area is now a pedestrian zone with excellent cafes and fish taverns and romantic restaurants.
The monastery was originally built from an altar that the locals erected in honor of "Agia Napa", the saint of the forest, after discovering an image of the Holy Mary in a cave in the forest, illuminated by a strange light. The 14th century monastery was enlarged at the beginning of the 16th century by a wealthy woman. The tomb of the woman now lies in the courtyard of the monastery.
In Agia Napa is the largest themed water park in Europe with many slides and other attractions. Its theme is Greek mythology with replicas of ancient Greek buildings and statues of gods.
Near Agia Napa are the 19 Makronissos tombs carved into solid rock. These tombs were uncovered in the 19th century as a result of constant looting.
The Marine Museum is the first natural history museum of its kind in Cyprus and a popular destination for tourists and locals. It displays maritime exhibits from the past and present. The exhibition also includes fish fossils, shells, sea urchins, sea turtles, sea plants and much more.
